AUSTIN, Texas – This June, thousands of Texas Democrats will make their way to El Paso with speakers from all over the country – representing coalitions of all backgrounds – lending their support for our Texas Democratic fight. Today, the Texas Democratic Party is proud to announce Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer as a keynote speaker alongside U.S. Senate Nominee Congressman Colin Allred at the 2024 Texas Democratic Convention.

“It’s clear that Texas is at the forefront of the 2024 cycle, and with support from Democratic giants like Gov. Whitmer and Congressman Allred – we’re ready to pound the pavement towards the road to November,” said Texas Democratic Chair Gilberto Hinojosa.
“In Michigan we know what it takes to win Democratic seats up and down the ballot, and we know that when we win, we protect Americans’ freedoms and look out for working families. I’m excited to be joining so many leaders who are bringing that same spirit to Texas this year.” said Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.
